From an early age I had always loved sport. All sport, especially if it involved a ball or a board.
Football, rugby, hockey, tennis, cricket, skateboarding, BMX, snowboarding and the list goes on. I was naturally competitive and I loved to be active.
In my early 20’s however I had become almost completely inactive. I was studying at university and if I am honest I spent most of my time either out drinking or recovering from nights out drinking.
Although I didn’t realise it at the time I had actually lost my direction and focus completely.
It is a bit embarrassing to admit but I would often spend my days watching mind numbing daytime television or playing xbox slumped on a sofa eating unhealthy processed food.
Every now and then I would drag myself from the sofa to play football, skate or go to the gym and exercise.
I didn’t know it at the time but this lifestyle was harmful for me in so many ways, physically and psychologically.
